MFA protects one login. A password manager protects all of them.
Multi-factor authentication blocks attackers who already have the password. A password manager stops staff reusing the same password on the twelve sites that are not yours.
The reuse problem MFA does not solve
Most credential-theft incidents we see in SG SME breach reports do not start where you might think. They start with a personal-site breach. A hobby forum. A recruitment site. A small e-commerce shop. A staff member used the same password as their work login.
MFA on the Microsoft 365 side does not help when the same password gets sprayed against an exposed admin interface, a legacy IMAP endpoint, or a third-party SaaS app that never required MFA in the first place. A team password manager prevents the reuse mechanically. Every site gets a generated password the staff member never sees, and never types into the wrong tab.
What "team" adds vs a personal password manager
Vendor logins, social media, shared inboxes
Team folders for credentials that have to be shared. Each shared item is scoped to the right people and revoked centrally when access changes.
Easy revoke when staff leave
Remove an ex-employee from the team vault and their access to shared credentials stops. Personal password managers cannot do this.
Required policy at creation
Minimum length, generated complexity, required rotation for sensitive accounts. Compliance assessors look for the policy, not just the password.

What about the browser's built-in password storage?
Fine for personal use. Not a business control. Chrome and Safari password storage has no team sharing, no audit trail, no offboarding, and is locked to the device. Compliance assessors do not accept browser password storage as a password manager. If your CSA Cyber Essentials submission lists Chrome as your password manager, expect a finding.
Stop the reuse, keep the MFA
The Protection plan includes a team password manager with shared vaults, strength enforcement, and easy offboarding. MFA stays on. They solve different problems and both belong on the stack.
